Award Posts- (Pt-1)- The Aesthete Blogger Award

This is going to be my last award post. There will be a part 2 for this post with a different award and henceforth, I’ll be joining the “award-free” bandwagon.

Sabrina from Girl Chat nominated me for this award. Thank you, Sabrina, I truly appreciate the nomination and I’m super super grateful that you thought of me! Sabrina’s blog is a super high-energy, high-positivity and highly relatable space in the internet. I thoroughly enjoy reading her blogs and wait for them eagerly. Thanks to the creator, Ashmita from the fictional journal .

The Rules

1. Use the official logo/graphic of the award and display it on your blog.

2. List the rules.

3. Show some love to the one who nominated you.

4. Mention the creator (Ashmita @ The Fictional Journal) and link back to the original post.

5. Tell me something about this world that you admire.

6. What is your favorite form of creativity?

7. Nominate 7 lovely people and notify them by commenting on their post. Show some love!

8. Ask your nominees 4 questions.

9. Share something you created (can be anything).

10. And lastly, just so you know: I LOVE YOUR CREATIONS!

Tell me something about this world that you admire

Oh, this world is an amazing place without my having to assert it 😉 How this world started out with conditions unfavourable to life (known as the prebiotic soup), cooled down drastically, introduced magnificent water bodies, welcomed the first prokaryotic cells, which in turn increased the oxygen levels of the world, formed simple unicellular bacteria, subsequently evolving into eukaryotic cells, only to later multiply into more complex multicellular eukaryotic organisms and finally resulting in us, complex (and complicated!) organisms- yeah, it wasn’t easy for us to get here. It never ceases to amaze me how much we, as a species have had to evolve to get to where we are now, as the masters of the world- for the better or for the worse.

What is your favourite form of creativity

Creativity in the form of technological innovation. Solely, this creative force has brought our civilisation forward, has combated our many diseases and has ensured that we as a species are not wiped off from the face of this planet.

Share something you created

Sabrina’s Questions:

1. What’s your favourite pizza toppings?

Paneer (cottage cheese cube) and mushroom. As a vegetarian, my options are few 😉

2. Imagine you were the opposite gender for a day. Pick a new name for yourself starting from the letter “S”.

Samved (which is one of 4 Vedas in Hinduism), Samiksh (He who is close to the Sun) or Shyam (bluish-black, being the colour of Lord Krishna and Lord Ram). 3 names because I have a very chaotic mind and it’s difficult for me to choose between them when I like them all. Whichever one suits my male face 😉

3. What word rhymes with your name?

Can’t possibly think of a word that rhymes with my official name “Samrakshni”. But thinking of a word that rhymes with Sahana, the Hindi word Bahana (बहाना), comes to mind, and it means “excuse.” Makes sense because I do give a lot of excuses 😅 The name Sahana also rhymes with the Muslim given name Safana, which means “shining star” or “pure”. (I have a friend by that name). If I were born Muslim, that’s the name I would have wanted to have! (although one doesn’t really get to choose their names).

4. How has October been so far? How’s life?

Quite repetitive. Life’s good, no reasons to complain, only too many to be grateful for, yet my mind feels a bit chaotic, empty and not so receptive. 🙂 Empty pretty much sums it.

My nominations:

Malalai Noor Khan

I hope you are all open to doing awards. If you are not, you must excuse me for not knowing it early on and there is absolutely no pressure to participate.

My Questions:

1. Did you have to alter your ways during the pandemic or did you maintain “COVID-appropriate behaviour” even in the pre-COVID times?

2. Do you have any unpopular opinion?

(Examples: “chocolate is disgusting”, “French fries are only good when soggy”, “Donald Trump is wonderful”, “Harry Potter is boring” and the likes).

3. What do you see as an admirable trait in a person?

4. Name a city, country or town that you are very eager to visit.

Wow, this was really fun! Thank you so much, Sab! I’m almost regretting my decision to go award-free. Really loved the questions.

Part-2 is coming soon!

    • Thank you so much!
Oh, so you DO know that it’s Poirot 😉 What was I thinking? None of my friends knew.
Lol thanks- couldn’t come up with any better example 😂Those are not my opinions though.
Also, are you open to doing award posts? If your blog is award free, I totally understand.

    • Thank you so very much, my friend 💖 My older one was dull and off.
Did you know, when I saw your comment in the notification, I realised that I hadn’t finished my Duolingo Daily Challenge yet and was at the risk of using up a steak freeze (the day ends in less than 2 hours) and immediately rushed to finish it 😄 Motivation strikes in weird ways and today you saved me from a biiig disaster so thanks! 😉
Also, I’ve been meaning to ask you, are you open to doing award posts? Or is your blog award-free?

      • Oh my gosh 😲 So happy your magnificent streak is safe! It always motivates me to see you pop up on my duolingo screen 🙂
Thanks for asking about the awards… hmmm to be honest I feel so new to the world of blogging, and I’m still figuring out what direction to go. So I’m going to stay award-free for now. But in the future I might like to participate!

  2. Oh dear, I am a lazy woman… I feel like this 😴😴😴 when I do my award posts!! It’s lengthier and longer….. I’ve got 7 awards to do… But I’ve decided not to do because people who nominate me has forgotten that they nominate me. 😜
I often think to write a post SORRY to whomsoever nominated me…but again i am lazy to do that too. 🙄🙄🙄 Thank you dear for asking me this. I feel little relieved

I totally get you. That’s exactly why I’m not going to do more from now.
7 nominations- 😜 Very like you to be nominated so many times, now I know that you’re a human, just like me 😂 (I always have my doubts. Anyone can have a robot to maintain their blog, you know 😉😜 Just saying).

  4. You are wise and beautiful person. Your answers are so interesting and genuine, very lovely to read and know more about you ❣️ I loved how you say you are grateful for too many things – I have felt the same always, too many blessings to count on my way. The questions you ask to others you nominate are wonderful too!

    • Thank you so so very much for your lovely words! I’m beyond thrilled. 😀🤍 I’d like to know, is your blog award-free?
These days I assume that about anyone I’ve not seen doing award posts 😅

      • You are so thoughtful and considerate. Yes I stay award free, though I would actually love doing them. I think I can’t do justice to them time and flow wise. So kind of you to check with me 💛

      • For now I want to remain award free. There’s just so much I can stretch my time, you see. Even going to investigate what’s involved in award posters seems a tad time consuming. One day I’ll have more time for that.
Sam glad you feel loved through my comments. If I could pop out of the comment box, I would. Just to hug you.
I cannot so I want you to feel it.
Be well my sweets. Stay beautiful.

      • I totally understand and respect your decision.
Trust me, I would too, Eventhough I’ve never been a hugger in real life ☺️😁
        Virtual hugs!
Have a miraculous day!! (Does that sound enough like you? 😉😜)

Grab your miracle on this miraculous day, Sam. And see scattered miracles everywhere.
Virtual hugs for you, young lady. xoxo

  6. Congratulations Sam. You have some of the best questions I’ve seen in an award chain. Damn hackneyed of me. I had a single word that rhymed pretty well with Samrakshni. Now it’s late and I can’t remember it.

  7. Hello Sam! Congratulations on the tag, thoughtful answers you’ve written! Thank you for nominating me as well! Oddly, I would like to name myself Shyam if I had a chance too. It’s bizarre how I’m attracted to that name LOL.

  8. Why’d you decide to go award free?
OK. I love how you described my blog😂!
    Your creation😂
Oh, you are vegetarian too. Have you always been vegetarian?
Wow out of all the examples you could give, you decided to being Donald Trump into this😂
Thanks for doing it and it was a pleasure nominating you❤

  9. Wow, love Samiksh as a name and I want to use it for a future story, like Sami. What do you think? Thank you for sharing something about yourself. The passage about the earth is so beautiful. I really love it. It takes billions of years to evolve to where we are today and let’s not destroy this beautiful planet.

    • Oh, you said it so well! You can absolutely use that name in a story 😀 It’s not a name I’ve heard very commonly, so will work perfectly!
Thanks a lot for stopping by 🤍

    • Yasss!!! My, I’m amazed you know him! None of my friends have an idea that he exists. HOW I WISH I KNEW YOU IN REAL LIFE!!! I loooove Agatha Christie.
      Thanks a lot for reading!

      • Agatha Christie’s novels used to be my life and soul. Plus the neat Poirot was my favorite character.
Me too! You seem to have a lot of experience! Hope to talk to you someday 🙂

        Liked by 1 person

      • I do love murder mystery. Poirot is a darling, although he looked slightly different in my imagination. Thanks for noticing the meme! That’s the one helping me find like minded people here 😉 I hope so too!! 😊

  10. Congratulations on the award Sam! I loved all the answer especially the first one where you talked about what you admire about the world. I liked reading the rhyming words for your name too. This was a fun post!!❤❤
